DistancePreps "LIVE VIDEO OF THE YEAR" for 2010

What a great year for Florida DistancePreps running in 2010.  We've had the pleasure of covering numerous track and cross-country meets LIVE over the past year to include the FSU Relays, Florida Relays, FHSAA State Track and Field Meets for all 4 classifications, Foot Locker South and the FHSAA State Cross Country Finals.

After careful review, we've pegged the 2010 Florida State Relays High School Boys 3200 as our "LIVE VIDEO OF THE YEAR".

Captured on March 26, 2010, the race featured several of Florida's top boy distance runners for an assualt on the record books and the opportunity to go sub 9 which hadn't been accomplished on Florida soil in numerous years (Ryan Deak, 8:51.65, Florida Milers Club All-Comers Meet 2003).

The race featured all 4 Boys State Cross-Country Champions and a really top-notch field across the board that was orchestrated by Coach Chris Sumner.  The significance of the 2010 Florida State Relays 3200 can't be denied.  It set the stage early in 2010 for a great many accomplishments that followed later on in the year.  The race significantly sets some huge expectations for the 2011 race with a field that could very easily be deeper than 2010.

After a somewhat slow 1600 in 4:33, the leaders came back with negative splits and the assault was on to see how many runners would run below 9:10.  When it was all said and done, it was the deepest boy's 3200 ever run on Florida soil and made it our "LIVE VIDEO OF THE YEAR" for 2010.
