Washington High Athletic Director Troy Faucheaux looked around Tuesday morning at all the people who had helped make the dream of bringing a rubberized track to the Pensacola area come true.

And when his principal, Michael Roberts, sliced through blue ribbon and the dream became a reality, Faucheaux couldn't hold back his feelings of gratitude.

"It was very exciting to know that this is what we've always wanted and dreamed about," Faucheaux said after the ribbon-cutting ceremony for his school's new rubberized track — the only one at a high school in a four-county area. "And the realization has set in that it's happened."
